I opened one of them myself, other is still factory sealed. Both need battery changes and have original solder on BMW batteries. 2 Mini keys with matching transponders and coding. Dont believe this is a coded item but including in the set. Tachometer - I needed the two screws out of the back side, so you will need to use yours. Not just the speedo but every instrument changed including the radio. I know this because when I installed my 2004 speedo the lighting changed to a light orange. ECU Module BUS coded BC1 Module BUS coded Steering Angle Sensor coded 149,000 mile Speedo Instrument Cluster BUS coded - Deep Dark Orange Instrument color which transfers to the other instruments. Stored codes will fall off, the beauty of BMW products. ALL these codes were due to a hole in the supercharger by-pass diaphragm, failed ignition coil and a blown out fuel injector o-ring on number 3 cylinder and possibly the camshaft failure on the exhaust valving of cylinder 3. May have check engine codes stored 0234, 0303, 2300,2303 which will fall off if your engine does not have the same engine problems.
